From the comparison with some important companies and the needs expressed by the Municipality of Milan through the call for proposals on the themes of public organization and layouts of public and private spaces and services, Fasemodus Architettura, which operates as a work spaces & retail design studio, has created [StriM], a proposal for the creation of “Intermediate structures for Milan“. The project starts from the need to adopt a new point of view for a higher quality of life by combining the concepts of smart working and co-working with an innovative approach in an intermediate space.
Architect Luca Bucci, partner of Fasemodus Architettura, comments on their project: “The rediscovery of a new urban ecology based on an intermediate, neighbourhood scale is certainly one of the positive aspects to be developed in the near future. Not to overcome the pandemic but to live a little better than yesterday. This new approach, starting with the spaces and services of work, can also be applied to other aspects of our “urban” life, such as commerce with new forms of sales”.
Thus, places spread throughout the city have been imagined, connected in a network where co-working with smartworking, open spaces with confined spaces, services with recreational spaces and with catering.
With [StriM] close to home it is possible to find a place to work with sociality and synergies that are triggered by bringing different people and professionals together, thanks to the creation of an articulated network of hyperconnected local hubs, created with the support of “mother companies” that make them their own work spaces open to the skills of the area. Hubs shared with freelancers, startups or freelancers for sociality and knowledge crossover.
Valid alternatives to the home and headquarters of the companies to carry out all the activities that we have learned to do today in total autonomy, but also a reference point for single professionals or organized in small units, reducing the smartworking in a nucleus of coworking then with shared services that can be integrated and modified over time.
Both inside and in neighboring areas there are other urban functions: mini-schools, catering, play street and leisure spaces, neighborhood trade.
The deputies are those of reuse, ground floors, underused spaces even outside the consolidated trajectories that will be supplemented by new and short pedestrian and bicycle paths.
They are neighbourhood spaces that can involve people living in areas of intermediate scale: in line with the “city of 15 minutes” the new urban dimension designed by the City of Milan.
Indoor uses can include: reception, smart study and co-working rooms, for restricted meetings, workstations with priority from the sponsor company, a relaxation area with sufficient space and adequate spacing together with acoustically isolated phone call spaces.
A sensor of value and social activities in the area, designed in a modular and flexible way to accommodate a predefined number of users and modifiable on the basis of the evolution of covid-19 warnings.
The management, subject to registration on an online platform, includes a smart card for entry into all hubs or company card with the possibility of booking the workstation and meeting room.
