Designed by architect Maurizio Lai, AJI, the take-away and delivery brand of Japanese and Asian cuisine of the highest level, interprets the constraints and opportunities of this era through original space management and an innovative business model. In the “White Paper” Design Tech for Future, Lai analyses the future scenarios of catering.
AJI’s environment is designed to give back to customers the sense of speed, accuracy, measure and quality that distinguishes the gastronomic proposal.
For the waiting space, Maurizio Lai designs the time that people spend while food is being finalized, creating a level of experience that acts on emotions and uses the material to give back to the public the values of the brand.
Maurizio Lai uses light to expand the environment: the ceiling is transformed into a three-dimensional canvas, with hanging bodies flanked by a geometric pattern built with light and reflections; the wall set up at full height consists of shelves and surfaces in backlit metal fabric.
The surface of the one large table reflects and plays with light, amplifying the effect, to create a vibrant visual texture.
The counter is a monolith in calacatta white marble and on the back you can see the kitchen marked by semi-gloss metal profiles.
Satin-finished porcelain stoneware surfaces with a travertine effect, custom-made furnishing elements embellished with plays of light transport the design into an environment usually entrusted to a purely functional design. The space integrates, without discontinuity of language, the large and elegant kitchen on the road, where the ritual of preparing refined dishes is consumed on sight of passers-by.
A single table, a single environment, a sophisticated visual experience: AJI’s model is avant-garde and innovative and passes an important test, in this period of forced distancing.
The format is unique: Asian specialities of superior quality are processed in a high-tech kitchen, delivered quickly, cared for and sustainable.
AJI offers not only a take-away service, but also a delivery service: managed directly by the brand, with means and dedicated staff, it ensures maximum attention to every detail, from the kitchen to the home. To perfect the security of delivery, the boxes will soon be equipped with a special antibacterial film.
