La Biglietteria is a restaurant, American bar and cafeteria. The project is a continuation of both what was left of the original structure and the results of Portoghesi’s renovation (the wooden decoration of the entrance doors, the bardiglio marble floor and the ticket booth itself).
On this legacy, the interior design and furnishings are built on a reinterpretation of the déco aesthetic in a contemporary key. Through the large iron structures of the bottle rack the heights are enhanced, a sinuous counter in wood and dark marble and fixed seats in green velvet are articulated on the walls on which imposing curvilinear structures tightly reiterate the theme of the arches, breaking it down and reassembling it on geometries of botanical and faunal inspiration.
The metal-edged tables with marble tops, as well as cement tops, pay homage to the experimental workshop of construction technologies that has been the Umbertino district since its inception. The curved wooden chairs upholstered in velvet with Vienna straw backrests echo the lines of early 20th-century design.
