The New Together, the collective exhibition conceived by Platform and curated by Luca Molinari and Simona Finessi, opened its doors on 19 May during an event attended by a large audience of architects, designers, journalists and representatives of companies in the sector.
The event, organised in the splendid setting of the Scuola Grande della Misericordia in Venice, was presented by journalist Paola Pierotti, who invited the main protagonists of the exhibition onto the stage: the curators – Luca Molinari and Simona Finessi – together with the artistic director of the exhibition project – Angelo Dadda – and the Superluna architecture studio, which designed and realised the exhibition layout, represented by founders Luca Sartori and Marco Bonfatti Paini.
Guest of the evening, the artist Jacopo Ascari, introduced to the public present an illustration created ad hoc for the exhibition, also narrated through a ‘work in progress’ video of the work.
The Scuola Grande della Misericordia di Venezia, which hosted the opening event, is a monumental space designed by Sansovino and skilfully restored in 2015, where art, history and culture dialogue with the territory. Located in the Sestiere di Cannaregio, exactly between Ca’ d’Oro and San Marcuola, it is an institutional destination chosen for prestigious exhibitions, installations and cultural events.
Its magnificent spaces finally welcomed a toast, which kicked off the exhibition period that will see the alternation of various collateral events, organised in order to animate the prestigious location throughout the opening period with a dense programme of forums, conferences and lectures.
