From May 20 to 22, 2025, during Clerkenwell Design Week in London, House of Rohl makes its official debut with an immersive outdoor installation designed by GA Design, set in the evocative courtyard of the historic London Charterhouse.
Inspired by traditional Japanese onsen, the installation explores the connection between ancient rituals and contemporary comfort, transforming the exhibition space into a sanctuary of silence, wellbeing, and materiality.
At the heart of the scene is Kerid, the new collection by Victoria + Albert, designed for a deep, meditative bathing experience. Named after a volcanic crater in Iceland, the Kerid bath redefines the classic freestanding tub with its compact shape (135 cm), integrated seat, and angled rim that ergonomically supports the neck and head—offering a truly immersive soak.
Crafted from Quarrycast™, Victoria + Albert’s exclusive blend of volcanic limestone and high-performance resin, Kerid is highly durable and thermally stable—ideal for both hot immersion and outdoor cold therapy, while maintaining elegance in any setting.
The installation creates a dialogue between materiality, light, and introspection. Water becomes the central element in a sensory experience that blends design, nature, and wellness, evoking the most authentic values of contemporary living.
Bringing a collection to Clerkenwell Design Week that encourages slowness and self-care aligns perfectly with evolving trends in the wellness sector: from luxury hotels and spas to urban residences looking to transform the bathroom into a daily sanctuary for regeneration.
Kerid will officially launch in September 2025, and the collection will also include a matching round basin and a non-slip Quarrycast™ step, all designed with the same elegant, floating aesthetic—offering a cohesive and refined bathroom environment.
With this new project, Victoria + Albert—part of the House of Rohl family alongside Perrin & Rowe, Shaws, and Riobel—reaffirms its vision of the bathroom as both a sensory experience and a design statement, merging form and function in perfect harmony.
