In Porto Santo Stefano, on the promontory of Monte Argentario, Villa Pacis is integrated into the coastal landscape with a measured, discreet, and harmonious presence. Designed by ADA-STUDIO, led by Fabrizio Farina, the villa originated from the demolition and reconstruction of a small pre-existing building. The new architectural configuration responds to the needs of a large family, but also reveals itself as a conscious gesture towards the territory, respecting its morphologies and rhythms.
The layout of the villa is articulated in distinct volumes that dialogue with the orography of the land and adapt to its slopes. The project works on the balance between Tuscan tradition and contemporaneity, employing local materials such as stone and wood to weave a visual and material connection with the environment. Large windows and open terraces amplify the permeability between interior and exterior, inviting one to experience the house in close relationship with nature.
The solar orientation was carefully studied to ensure maximum exposure to natural light throughout the day and improve living comfort. The interiors, essential yet refined, reflect the palette of the surrounding landscape, with neutral colors and textures that recall the earth, the sea, and the Mediterranean vegetation.
But Villa Pacis is also an example of sustainable and integrated architecture: the project includes an underground cistern for rainwater harvesting, which is reused to supply, among other things, the panoramic swimming pool. The latter, perfectly embedded in the natural topography of the site, visually merges with the marine horizon, creating an image of perfect continuity between artifice and nature, between dwelling and landscape.
