Thumbs up for Art

Daria Dazzan is an italian fashion and interior textile designer, with love and passion for hand making ceramics. She is specialised on textile manipulation, embroidery and up-cycling.
Her education in the arts began at the royal academy of fine arts in antwerp, belgium. That led her to work in high-end fashion houses such as Hussein chalayan, versace, diesel and balmain before setting up her own design studio.
Daria is now based in milan, where she recently opened a community ceramic and design studio, manimilanolab, aiming to expand the presence of artisanal pottery making in an urban context, prioritizing people who love art and design. Her lab is in the south part of the city, close to the Navigli area.

The Onda vase serie is made from a gesture with the hand thumb, a handmade embroidery made on clay: each curl is one thumb. Like an artisanal television mesured in inches, a vase can have up to 230 thumb gestures.
Clay is treated by the creative through her fashion language, giving glossy, shiny sontrasty looks to functional decorative pieces. all vases are unique pieces.
Onda vase and Funghi stands are all handmade, repetible in small series.
