SeiMilano, is the urban regeneration project that Borio Mangiarotti and Värde Partners are developing in an area of 330,000 square metres just 12 stops from Piazza Duomo in Milan. The residential units are marketed by Sigest, advisor and commercial partner of the project. The project, which will be completed by the end of 2022, will transform the area, creating a new urban landscape: a new multifunctional, unique and innovative district, set in a large, well-equipped and safe park.
The project, designed by Studio Mario Cucinella Architects (MC A) envisages the construction of about 1,000 residences, in free and subsidized housing, 30,000 square metres of offices and about 10,000 square metres of retail space. A contemporary garden city integrated in a new public park of over 16 hectares, designed by landscape architect Michel Desvigne.
The first part of the residential development (about 524 flats), extending along the north-south axis, was designed to ensure greater exposure to natural light, optimising views and providing a private outdoor space for each unit, according to three different types: loggias, terraces and glass greenhouses. On the ground floor, towards the boulevard, there will be the entrance halls and neighbourhood shops. On the first floor, the buildings will be connected by a pedestrian promenade overlooked by glassed-in condominium halls and shared communal spaces that will aim to foster social relations among the new inhabitants and the birth of a new community of people: a living area and social kitchen, multi-purpose rooms, coworking spaces, a gym, a children’s play area, smart delivery lockers, an object library and a repair and reuse workshop.
The tallest buildings will be located on the front facing the city and the dwellings will start from the second floor, while the residences facing the park will be on the ground, creating a sequence of private gardens. The park will include sports areas, children’s playgrounds, bicycle paths, urban gardens and dog areas. The project is completed by a kindergarten and nursery school for up to 160 children and a multifunctional community centre (CAM), intended partly for the City’s social services and partly for collective outdoor functions, thanks to the large pergola.
SeiMilano will therefore be a new mixed-use district, conceived according to the highest standards of environmental sustainability, useful innovation and quality of life, able to fully meet the new needs of contemporary living. For more information visit www.mcarchitects.it.
