Luigia is the project for the events space of the Luigia chain, part of the international business group Capomondo, in Switzerland. The customer’s request was to transform the mezzanine of the old cinema, now one of the Luigia restaurant-pizzeria, into a space dedicated to openings and events.
The center of the project is the large chandelier, designed with sandblasted glass bottles and the riser for spirits below. A wooden and leather counter was developed around it, inspired by the original style of the old cinema; the steps to sit lined with red carpet make the space convivial and informal; and finally, to virtually divide the event space on the mezzanine from the space below, Studio/Pincherle chose a methacrylate curtain-sculpture by the artist designer Jacopo Foggini.
The rear mezzanine is also part of the project, which enlarged the area of the restaurant tables, and was made very welcoming thanks to the installation of a very dense wallpaper that reproduces photographs of the “dolce vita and paparazzi” and the insertion of tables in painted iron and colored padded seats.
