Living sustainably in the landscape

Among the hills of Erba, in the province of Como, stands Green House, a single-family villa designed by Frigerio Design Group, exemplifying contemporary architecture and environmental sustainability. The residence, covering 260 square meters across three levels, is classified as an NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building) and represents the perfect fusion of design, living comfort, and energy efficiency.

The architecture of the villa is dynamic and silent: offset volumes rotate and interpenetrate to reduce visual impact and improve solar exposure, creating livable outdoor spaces throughout the year. The basement level houses the service areas, while the upper floors, built in Xlam wood, accommodate daily life, with large south-facing windows shaded by wooden brise-soleil, and north-facing facades that are more closed and textured.

A key feature of the project is also the careful choice of materials: Moltrasio stone for the foundation and ventilated facade with porcelain stoneware, emphasizing the connection with the natural context. The roof, green and equipped with photovoltaic panels, covers most of the building’s energy needs, in line with the most advanced passive design principles.
