Founded in Brianza in 1948, Chateau d’Ax represents a reality that from the very beginning has skilfully interpreted Made in Italy manufacturing know-how. A legacy built on innovation, products that have become international icons, and a constant aptitude for research and experimentation. Quality, aesthetics and functionality have always been the brand’s founding values.
Over time, the production of upholstered furniture has evolved along these lines: from the first classic sofas with a visible wooden structure to the most evolved models with integrated relaxation mechanisms. The current collections, the result of over seventy years of craftsmanship, have been enriched over time thanks to the collaboration with internationally renowned architects and designers such as Cini Boeri, Maurizio Manzoni, Corrado Dotti, Michele De Lucchi, Ennio Arosio, Studio Palomba and Massimo Iosa Ghini.
On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2025, Chateau d’Ax renews its dialogue with great design and presents two new proposals: Olympia, designed by Corrado Dotti, and Proust, signed by Massimo Iosa Ghini. Two different interpretations of contemporary comfort, united by their ability to combine aesthetics, innovation and well-being.
Olympia draws inspiration from the majesty evoked by both Greek myth and the history of the Parisian music hall. A sofa that is striking in its visual impact and the balance between organic shapes and enveloping volumes. The seat and backrests recall a soft and natural language, while the armrests follow fluid lines, almost like petals. The accentuated folds of the leather visually convey the softness, giving it a distinctive and sophisticated character. The visible pulls, also on the back, enhance the ergonomics and all-round design. Free of mechanisms, with tone-on-tone double stitching and fully upholstered on each side, Olympia is also designed for stand-alone use. It is aimed at a wide audience, which seeks contemporary solutions without renouncing tradition and comfort.
On the other hand, Proust is a recliner sofa inspired by movement, with soft, organic lines that evoke a natural sense of cosiness. The mechanism adapts fluidly to the shape of the body, transforming the sofa into a refuge of recollection and reflection. The cushions, soft and generous, seem to rest spontaneously, creating an enveloping and refined atmosphere. Designed as a modular project, also available in a corner version with chaise longue, it offers a wide range of customisation possibilities in colours and materials. It is an expression of sensory elegance and tailored comfort, embodying the essence of Chateau d’Ax.
With these new proposals, Chateau d’Ax confirms its role as a protagonist on the Italian design scene, continuing to innovate within tradition and creating solutions that combine aesthetics, functionality and daily well-being.
