HOUSE M is a 190 sqm attic designed by Mera Architetti under commission following the idea of a “Mediterranean refuge on the roofs of the city”. This project is referred to one of the main field of the design research that “Mera Architetti” has been following for several years, dedicated to the “Fifth surface”.
The ceilings are used as canvasses, where the artist can freely express his story or rather the story of the people who live in the house; a blank surface where he can easily paint, without getting around any obstacles.
In the house M the ceiling was designed like a magma, which invades the living room from the back of the sideboard to later fits every room. “SuperPop web” comes into the sleeping area through the hallway, goes past the blue terraces through the windows. The windows are designed to frame a certain view of the landscape, from the sixteenth-century bell tower to the Partenio mountains. Furnishings and accessories are custom designed by the studio.
