Duravit, Design expertise

Duravit sees a focus on design as the key to developing its approach to bathroom furniture. The company relies on a sustainable design language and a unique network of designers: this courageous path began in 1987 with the ‘Giamo’ series by designer Dieter Sieger. Since then, there have been many collaborations with international designers who have enormously enhanced the brand, such as Philippe Starck, with whom a valuable collaboration of over 30 years has been established, Christian Werner who has designed simple furniture in bright colours, Sebastian Herkner thanks to whom lines with clear Japanese influences were born and Cecilie Manz who instead has taken the brand towards Nordic suggestions. Most recently Antonio Citterio designed a unique architectural series and, last but not least, the intergenerational collaboration with Sieger Design, now run by his sons Christian and Michael.

Duravit has built a history of innovative designs with more than 100 design series created with 24 designers from around the world, who work closely with the company’s in-house design team to ensure uniformity of principles and values across the range.
Over the years, this has led to the development of a unique DNA, an unmistakable and precisely formulated design language, on which each individual bathroom series is based and which is interpreted by the designers according to their own individuality, extravagance and courage to use more or less unusual materials and colours.
However, all the collections are united by their focus on sustainability and the highest standards of product quality ensured by state-of-the-art technologies oriented towards personal comfort and well-being.

In recent years, Duravit has transformed the bathroom into a room of absolute well-being, as evidenced by the more than 200 international awards it has received from top juries of renowned design prizes.
