Raqam is a modular lighting system with a strong aesthetic impact, born from the creativity of Marc Sadler for Masiero. It combines the preciousness of a jewel with the lightness of embroidery, transforming light into a dynamic and refined decorative element.
Its real strength lies in its modularity: seven different elements, with shaped metal structures in linear, curved or angular shapes, covered in transparent coloured glass, allow almost unlimited freedom of composition. Each module can be combined with the others to create tailor-made configurations – from the lightest and brightest pendants, to cascading claddings, to spectacular large-scale installations.
Available in numerous configurations, Raqam adapts with versatility to residential, contract or scenic settings. To complete the customisation, a wide range of finishes for the metal structures, offered in elegant chrome, gold and burnished variants. Raqam is not just a lamp, but a lighting system to be composed like a work of art.
Raqam is the undisputed star of studio NB’s interior design project for the Grace Bistrot restaurant in Moscow, where the collection’s infinite possibilities for customisation and modularity have left free rein to the creativity of the designers, who have designed scenographic lighting geometries.
Estonian architecture firm Meelis Press also chose to use Raqam in the redevelopment of the Ajamaja building (House of Time) in the heart of old Tallinn. The building, which houses offices and a gallery of high-end shops on two levels, found lighting to be a key design element. Raqam’s great flexibility and modularity allowed the Estonian studio to create striking cascading lighting compositions, fully exploiting the potential offered by the seven metal and glass modules, skilfully combined to enhance the spaces in a unique and elegant way.
