Polyus Offices

ADA Architettura realised a refurbishment of an office building located in the centre of Moscow. The work involved the design of the facades, the internal fit-out and the external areas. The structure, which was initially in a shell and core state, was transformed into a modern, efficient and highly functional working environment.

The main objective of the intervention was to create flexible and cosy working spaces, capable of meeting contemporary demands for comfort, ergonomics and sustainability. The design concept was based on a balance between functionality and design, with a refined aesthetic that combines fine materials and advanced technological solutions.
Particular attention was paid to the optimisation of natural light and acoustic comfort, with the use of sound-absorbing panels and intelligent lighting systems, designed to ensure adequate lighting and reduce energy consumption.

One of the characterising aspects of the project was the choice to keep the structure in view, helping to ensure an industrial and modern architectural style. This solution made it possible to simplify plant connections and reduce costs, allowing investment in high-quality furniture and lighting.
The meeting rooms and private offices were conceived as ‘independent cells’ with their own ceilings, separated from the common areas by glazed walls set back from the ceilings, contributing to a perception of greater spatiality.

The studio, founded by architect Fabrizio Farina, handled all the design phases, from the preliminary to the executive, also including the design of the custom furnishings, the supervision of works and the general coordination of site activities.
The project involved the office spaces, distributed on various levels, characterised by flexible configurations; the common areas, such as lounge areas, reception and meeting spaces designed to favour interaction among employees; the company canteen designed to offer a comfortable and welcoming environment; the conference rooms, conceived as independent environments, equipped with state-of-the-art multimedia systems and designed to guarantee excellent acoustics; the outdoor areas, designed to offer moments of relaxation and socialisation.

The furnishings and upholstery are made of natural oak, creating an elegant contrast with fabric inserts. The glass walls between the corridors and the enclosed areas were set back from the ceilings to improve visual continuity.
The colour palette was designed to emphasise the feeling of spaciousness and restraint in the rooms: predominant shades include light greys for the ceilings and exposed structures, beige and natural colours for the wood panelling and furniture, and touches of blue and green in the textile finishes and decorative elements. This colour balance contributes to a sophisticated and relaxing ambience, promoting workers’ well-being.

From a technological point of view, the fit-out included the integration of advanced home automation systems to manage lighting, air conditioning and security, contributing to the building’s energy efficiency.

Thanks to a holistic approach, it was possible to create environments capable of improving the well-being of workers, optimising business performance and offering a high level spatial experience.
