In the heart of Milan, a new venue has come to life, combining the charm of design, culinary art and an unparalleled view of the city. Orizzonti is a panoramic restaurant located on the thirteenth floor of the Uptown Palace, offering a 360-degree view of the Milan skyline: from the silhouette of the Duomo to the Velasca Tower, all the way to the Alps. These horizons are not just a simple panorama but an element that becomes an integral part of the experience, so much so that it inspired the name.
The cuisine bears the signature of chef Luca Pedata, born in 1989, trained in Italy and Spain and a former member of Carlo Cracco’s brigade, whom he still considers his mentor today. Assisted by sous-chef Giuseppe Robustella, he offers a gastronomic journey that draws on Mediterranean tradition and renews it with modern techniques, respecting seasonality and sustainability. The underlying concept is that of casual fine dining, a balance between refinement and hospitality, where creative dishes and discreet service blend into an atmosphere that envelops the guest.
As the gaze wanders towards the horizon, the interior space amplifies the effect through an interior design project that interprets the idea of visual continuity and sensory harmony. Marble, wood and metal interact in a warm, natural palette of browns, greys and beiges that evoke the colours of the earth. Walnut parquet flooring and marble surfaces with pronounced veining define a sophisticated and coherent environment, where design takes centre stage.
The Pedrali collections enter the scene with elegance and functionality in perfect synergy with the surroundings. In the lounge, Ester armchairs designed by Patrick Jouin welcome guests with their soft, enveloping lines, combining ergonomics and style thanks to their padded shell and die-cast aluminium legs. The leather, available in a range of natural shades, enhances the feeling of comfort.
Lighting the tables, the rechargeable Filicudi lamps designed by Andrea Pedrali add an essential and technological touch, thanks to the possibility of adjusting the light intensity and the versatility that allows them to be transformed into flower vases. Filicudi is perfectly suited to the needs of the catering industry as it features a multiple charging system that allows the speakers to be stacked so that they can be charged simultaneously, up to a maximum of ten units, without the use of external cables, thus optimising space.
The large hall is also enriched by Stiel armchairs, designed by Sebastian Herkner, with their generous and soft shapes that enhance the idea of hospitality. Chosen in terracotta and dark green colours, they help to create rhythmic effects and define the spaces. The bar, the convivial heart of the restaurant, features burgundy Ester stools, perfect for an aperitif at sunset or for prolonging the evening with signature cocktails.
Orizzonti is not just a restaurant, but an experience that combines taste, aesthetics and panorama in a refined balance, where the city and the sky meet, and design becomes part of the journey.
