2026 Winter Olympics, sustainable hospitality by Gruppo Saviola

The Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games represent much more than a sporting competition: for weeks, Italy will be the centre of global attention, transforming the event into an international showcase capable of communicating its identity, skills and vision. Welcoming the world’s sporting elite means showcasing a country that knows how to combine tradition and innovation, a culture of hospitality and industrial capability, national pride and responsibility towards the future.

In this scenario that intertwines sport, sustainability and territorial development, Gruppo Saviola is contributing to the preparation of the guest quarters in Alta Valtellina, taking care of the reception areas in Bormio, Livigno, San Rocco and Trepalle, in the province of Sondrio. The spaces, intended for healthcare personnel working during the Games, have been designed according to the principles of sustainable architecture, with the aim of ensuring quality, comfort and reusability even beyond the duration of the event. The star of the interiors is the Pannello Ecologico® (Ecological Panel), made from 100% recycled wood and entirely produced in Italy, which interprets the theme of the circular economy in a contemporary key.

The project is the result of a collaboration with Missaglia Srl, responsible for the development and design of the spaces, while the production of the furnishings was entrusted to S75 Spa, which used Saviola decorative finishes to create a warm and natural aesthetic inspired by high-altitude woods. The result is a series of welcoming and functional spaces, designed to offer an authentically Italian experience of comfort and destined to retain their value over time.

The use of regenerated wood has also saved 103 trees, a figure that clearly demonstrates the environmental commitment of the companies involved. For the Saviola Group, participating in Milan-Cortina 2026 means taking on a responsibility as well as experiencing a source of pride: bringing an industrial model based on upcycling, innovation and quality to an international context, demonstrating how sustainability can become a real competitive advantage and an opportunity to generate lasting value.
