Just a few days to go before the start of the Courmayeur Design Week-end, the new edition of the event dedicated to design and architecture, the highest in Europe, which will be held in the resort at the foot of Mont Blanc from 10 to 13 March. “Points of View”, the theme chosen for this edition, will be the fertile ground for meetings, debates, material and photographic exhibitions, open-air installations and exhibitions sheltered in the large volume of the Courmayeur Sport Center, renamed “Chalet de Tendance” for the occasion. From the Courmayeur Sport Center we move to Piazza Brocherel, where the XXL version of the iconic Vanity Fair by Poltrona Frau will arrive. The design itinerary continues in Piazza Abbé Henry, where you will enter a large “urban living room”, a place of curiosity, aggregation and storytelling in the centre of the village. Crossing Via Roma, heading towards Piazza Petigax, which will host “Vado a vivere sulla neve” (I’m going to live on the snow), an exhibition of 20 designs commissioned for the 2003 skiCAD by architects of the calibre of Michele De Lucchi, Citterio, Sapper, Mendini, La Pietra, Thun, Sadler, Iosa Ghini, Branzi and many others, it will be impossible not to notice the shop windows set up for the occasion with a widespread exhibition of design objects that will animate the boutiques. The exhibition will be open from Thursday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. In the lounge of the Grand Hotel Royal & Golf, visitors will also be able to discover the new collection of the Dixpari brand by the two Candelo sisters, Carolina and Isabella, a spin-off of the family business, which deals with plastic components for large-scale industry. Design will also reach the summit of Mont Blanc, at Skyway, with “Fuoripista”, the brand and name of an exercise bike made of wood and crystal, which will allow visitors to test their athletic effort in the absence of oxygen. With the arrival of the evening it will be possible to continue the immersion in design with the light installation by Progetto CMR.
