The Martino Apartment, located in the heart of Cesena, is a fascinating example of how renovation can radically transform a living space, adapting it to contemporary needs without sacrificing its domestic warmth. Designed by Cavejastudio Architetti and led by architect Filippo Pambianco, the project reinterprets a generously sized apartment previously constrained by excessive partitioning.
Before the renovation, the apartment suffered from an interior layout that hindered the flow of natural light, a fundamental element for quality living. By merging the entrance, kitchen, and living room, the design created a bright and welcoming open space where light takes center stage. The result is a fluid, airy environment that conveys a sense of freedom and conviviality.
Among the retained elements are an exposed concrete pillar and the access hole to the attic, now transformed into a striking light well. This architectural feature allows light to gently permeate the entire living area, adding a poetic touch to daily life.
The kitchen, seamlessly integrated into the living room, revolves around a large island that becomes the heart of domestic and social activities. This central element serves as a gathering point for family and guests, combining functionality with refined aesthetics through high-quality materials and meticulously crafted finishes.
The boldest design statement is found in the bedroom area, where traditional spatial divisions are replaced by a “seductive” layout. The master bedroom connects with the en suite bathroom through a large glass enclosure around the shower, creating a visual and physical link between the spaces. This fluid, dynamic design challenges conventions, offering a unique and intimate living experience.
Despite its contemporary architectural language, the apartment retains the warmth of a true home. The use of natural materials like wood and stone, combined with soft finishes and warm colors, creates a welcoming and harmonious atmosphere. Every detail, from the lighting to the furnishings, has been carefully considered to balance modernity and comfort.
Martino Apartment goes beyond redefining its space—it redefines its identity. Through functional and aesthetic solutions, it reflects a new vision of living: bright, welcoming, and, why not, a little seductive.
