From 22 to 25 September 2026, Marmomac returns to Veronafiere to celebrate its 60th edition, reaffirming its role as an international benchmark for the natural stone industry and a meeting point for materials, technology, architecture and design.
This important anniversary marks a milestone for an event that originated in Verona’s stone district and has progressively evolved from a local trade fair into a global platform. With around 1,400 exhibitors from more than 54 countries and over 50,000 operators and professionals from 140 nations attending in 2025, Marmomac today brings together the entire supply chain, from materials and technologies to finishing products.
Its international dimension also takes shape through an extensive map of materials: 76,000 square metres, 12 halls and 8 outdoor areas showcase stones, surfaces and processing techniques from the world’s leading quarrying regions. Italy continues to play a central role, with more than 300 varieties of natural stone and an industry comprising around 3,200 companies, over 34,000 employees and a total turnover of €4.5 billion across materials and processing technologies.
The cultural heart of the 2026 edition will be Hall 10, which takes on a new identity as THE BEDROCK | Leading the Future of Natural Stone, under the artistic direction of architect Giorgio Canale. At the centre of the space, Pantheon, an installation created using 60 different natural stones from around the world, symbolically celebrates the event’s 60 editions through fifteen large-scale columns.
Four exhibitions curated by Joseph Grima, Davide Fabio Colaci, Raffaello Galiotto and Giuseppe Fallacara will explore new possibilities for natural stone across design research, technology and architectural experimentation.
With Sulla Pietra, Joseph Grima reflects on the future of the material in the light of environmental and technological transformations, exploring reuse, digital fabrication and low-emission materials. Davide Fabio Colaci presents Marble Interiors, a journey through ten projects – five historical and five contemporary – that interprets marble not simply as a finish, but as a generative element of interior space.
With Carisma Materico, Raffaello Galiotto investigates the relationship between traditional craftsmanship and new digital design and processing technologies, while Giuseppe Fallacara curates C’era una volta il “cielo” dell’architettura, dedicated to the arch and the vault as archetypes of construction and to their potential evolution through computational design and digital fabrication. The exhibition brings together prototypes developed by 17 Italian and international universities as part of Marmomac Meets Academies 2026.
The cultural programme will also extend into the city with Marmomac & The City, developed in collaboration with White Carrara. Installations by internationally renowned designers and architects including Ross Lovegrove, Antonio Aricò and Fabio Novembre will bring research into natural stone to Verona’s historic centre. The 60th edition will open with a lecture by Carlo Ratti, focusing on the relationship between technology, cities and architecture.
Alongside design research, Marmomac 2026 will also showcase the technological evolution of the industry, with machinery, plants and advanced systems presented across five halls and two outdoor areas. Automation, robotics and artificial intelligence are transforming stone processing: from multi-wire cutting systems, CNC machinery and waterjet technologies to the use of AI to optimise cutting according to the stone’s veining, detect micro-imperfections and support predictive maintenance. Robotics is also opening up new possibilities for engraving, sculpting and three-dimensional processing, bringing industrial innovation and design experimentation increasingly closer together.
Among this year’s new initiatives is the International “Sustainable Excellence” Award, promoted in collaboration with the University of Verona to recognise technologies and projects capable of making a tangible contribution to the sustainability of the stone industry, from production efficiency and reduced consumption to the responsible use of resources.
Sixty editions after its beginnings, Marmomac continues to explore the future of natural stone, bringing together material culture, technological innovation and new forms of contemporary design.
