For the 2026 edition of Marmomac, the world’s most important international fair dedicated to marble and stone production, located in Verona from 23 to 26 September, PLATFORM architecture and design presents “Stone: Timeless Architecture”, an event exploring the enduring relationship between natural stone and contemporary architecture.
Taking place on 25 September from 2.30 pm to 4.00 pm at The Bedrock Forum Area, Hall 10, the event will bring together seven architectural studios from across Europe, selected for their distinctive approaches to the use of stone in contemporary architecture and design.
Following an opening introduction by Simona Finessi, PLATFORM Architecture and Design Director, each participating architect will present a project or more offering a perspective on the role of stone in architecture. Through their presentations, the speakers will examine the material’s expressive, structural and aesthetic potential, revealing different ways in which natural stone can shape contemporary spaces.
The conference celebrates the timeless qualities and extraordinary versatility of stone, bringing together architects from Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Netherlands, Austria and Poland, demonstrating how a material rooted in history continues to inspire innovative approaches, creating a dialogue between natural matter, architecture and its surrounding environment.
