The Saviola Group once again confirms its commitment to supporting important cultural initiatives, participating as a protagonist in the 19th. International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, scheduled from 10 May to 23 November 2025 at the Giardini, the Arsenale and Forte Marghera.
Curated by architect and engineer Carlo Ratti, the exhibition ‘Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective.’ aims to raise public awareness towards a collective and conscious vision of the built environment. Through installations and experimental proposals, the exhibition invites us to rethink intelligence as a capacity for adaptation and coexistence between nature, technology and community.
In this context, the Saviola Group contributes concretely to the realisation of the exhibition spaces, providing its iconic Ecological Panel®, symbol of a production model based on circularity and responsible reuse of resources.
‘We strongly believed in the partnership with the Biennale Architettura 2025 because of the values that we share,’ said the Group’s President, Alessandro Saviola, ’and to spread our sustainable proposal, thanks to the presence of the Ecological Panel®, during an event that is recognised and appreciated worldwide.’
The Ecological Panel®, produced entirely from post-consumer wood without felling trees, was used for the column cladding in the general layout, the communication panels in the Arsenal, and for the Special Projects ‘A Satellite Symphony’ and ‘Speakers’ Corner’. Available in raw and melamine-coated versions, the material made it possible to avoid the felling of some 9,000 trees, offering a sustainable alternative for one of the most prestigious international architectural events.
The initiative is part of a long-term corporate strategy, which since 1990 has guided the Saviola Group in the promotion of material ethics in the world of wood-furniture and design. Every year, the company’s virtuous production process enables it to recycle around 1.5 million tonnes of end-of-life wood – from discarded furniture, pallets, fruit crates and more – avoiding the felling of around 10,000 trees a day, equal to over 2.8 million a year, an amount that corresponds to the surface area of the City of Rome.
Founded in 1963 in Viadana (Mantua), the Saviola Group is today an international leading industrial reality in the production of Ecological Panel® 100% recycled wood. With a turnover of over 800 million euro and five Business Units – Savionet, Saviola, Sadepan, Composad and Saviolife – the company continues to distinguish itself as a pioneer in sustainability applied to the industrial sector.
