Novelties 2024 by Martinelli Luce

Martinelli Luce presents the novelties 2024 focusing on collections of pendant and ceiling lamps. For 70 years now, the company has been synonymous with design light and follows today, as it has since its origins, the design imprint left by Elio Martinelli, a trace made of harmony and balance towards the essentiality of forms achieved through research into materials and passionate and tenacious experimentation. The design process embraces the beauty of nature and the purity of geometric shapes that create the peculiar physiognomies of Martinelli Luce lamps, which over the years have been able to create a true aesthetic language as refined as it is captivating, capable of stimulating the imagination and emotions of the beholder.
Still today, the aesthetics of the company’s origins mark the new collections: for 2024 Martinelli Luce presents four suspension and ceiling collections born from the encounter with Italian and international designers. The new proposals, Canopée, Chet-B, Fra Tac and Infinita, combine functionality and technology, creating modern and sophisticated atmospheres.

Canopée is a pendant lamp designed by Nicolas Verschaeve, evoking an intimate shelter and soft light under which to rest. It is a light element, in the centre of which the disc made from Serge Ferrari’s nautical cloth provides a reflective and diffusing surface. With a delicate touch, by rotating or pulling the three cylinders, the disc can be adjusted in both height and tilt, thus modulating the intensity of the reflected light to create different atmospheres.

With Chet-B, Francesco Lucchese proposes a ceiling light with a conical shape that creates on the one hand a soft illumination, on the other a sharper and more defined one thanks to the double diffusion of light, direct downwards and indirect towards the ceiling. The product was inspired by the shared passion of designer Francesco Lucchese and Marco Ghilarducci, CEO of Martinelli Luce, for jazz, in particular for the famous trumpeter Chet Baker.

Fra Tac designed by Gianfranco Rollo is an extremely versatile proposal: it is in fact a modular lamp with reflected light. The painted aluminium modules combine thanks to a magnet system to give rise to different compositions. In this way the lamp can vary its intended use – as a pendant or wall lamp – simply by changing the support. A small curiosity concerns the name of the product: it is a play on words in which “Tac” recalls the sound that the modules make when they stick together and “Fra” instead is a tribute to its designer, Friar Gianfranco Rollo.

Infinita is the collection of modular pendant lamps designed by Marta Sansoni, already presented in 2023, that is renewed with three new colours. The collection is a hymn to creativity and freedom of expression. The lamps consist of a central tubular profile, available in three different lengths, on which three-dimensional volumes in the shape of a cylinder, disc, bell or rhomboid are inserted as desired. Originally only available in a transparent version, it can now be produced in a combination of pink, cognac and smoked volumes and colours.
