Tectona and the new outdoor proposals 2024

Tectona is a French company that for more than 40 years has chosen to produce outdoor furniture recognisable for its craftsmanship and longevity, as well as its design. The company believes that innovation means cultivating a sense of detail, working with different materials and offering a wide range of colours. In 2023, Tectona, together with the Villa Noailles in Hyères, established and gave its name to a Prize, which aims to develop new models created by young designers every year.
Among the novelties launched this year is the Horizon chaise longue, which represents the first collaboration with AC/AL, a design studio founded in 2013 by Amandine Chhor and Aïssa Logerot. This chaise longue is designed to suit a wide range of configurations and places to relax, including outdoor spaces in hotels. Thanks to its wheels, it is light and easy to move. Moreover, it is mobile and stackable without difficulty. The backrest offers a practical and discreet adjustment mechanism. Combining the lightness of aluminium with the beauty of teak, it owes its comfort to the softness of the black Batyline fabric with which it is upholstered.

The Batten collection, on the other hand, features THINKK STUDIO’s low-slung living room, winner of the design competition organised by Tectona in 2017. For this living room, the Thai duo chose to work with teak slats, traditionally assembled with tenon and mortise joints. The entire set, consisting of a two-seater sofa and an armchair, combines lightness and comfort
with a rigorous design.
A further novelty this year involves the Bamboo collection, which has been extended with a low seat lounge whose structure echoes the design of bamboo canes. This evocation of nature is accompanied by a feeling of calm and serenity thanks to the generous proportions of this new living room. Dedicated to comfort, the armchair is characterised by the welcoming width of the seat, the ideal inclination of the backrest and the curved shape of the armrests. The chair’s clean lines are in keeping with the Japanese spirit of the collection. As for the table, its crossed base ensures perfect stability while ensuring that the legs do not come into contact with any obstacles.
