Hotel Oktogon

The interior design studio este’r partners – headed by Eszter Radnóczy – transforms the Hotel Oktogon in Budapest into the must-visit destination for a young, dynamic and contemporary design-loving public.
The atmosphere is breathtaking, the style visionary enough to enhance its timeless beauty, the 4-star Hotel Oktogon stands in an old building in the heart of the city. The style of the façade is typical and scenic of historical buildings, but inside the hotel hides a vibrant and unexpected soul.

Home to the public library, later used as the city’s hottest nightclub, the neo-Renaissance building has been given a new lease of life after three years of renovation by designers Eszter Radnóczy, Csilla Szabó, Hajnalka Zellei of the interior design studio este’r partners, and architectural partner Archikon.
The new design now integrates the heritage of the era with the growing demands of contemporary style, in a combination of modern comfort, cosy atmosphere and extreme functionality.
Built between 1884 and 1886, the Haggenmacher Palace has now been renovated retaining its original character, emphasised however with modern elements and contemporary design details.
The designers emphasised stone decorations, pillars, cornices, black and light grey diagonal checked floors and ceilings painted with leaf motifs, restored to their former glory.
The new furnishings are colourful, comfortable and lively, while a trio of basic colour combinations of red, green and blue and their pastel versions characterise the entire building, defining bright, cheerful and compact environments.

One only has to look into the lobby to grasp the sparkling, sophisticated mood: a breakfast area and bar at the same time, the lobby is furnished with essential, curved furniture that showcases eye-catching objects.
While the contemporary staircase in the lobby contrasts with the historic part of the building, the former open courtyard is a space covered by a glass roof, perfect for serving breakfast.
The 121 rooms also mix casual interior design with antique elements: the perimeter is covered with the original wood panelling restored to its original light walnut colour, while the bathrooms, thanks to the large size of the rooms, stand out in the middle of the room like mirrored boxes, with a spatial division that also allows guests to make use of a corridor and a private living room.
At guests’ disposal is a modern SPA with sauna, whirlpool bath and relaxation room, equipped with all the comforts for relaxation and self-care.

The Oktagon square, from which the hotel takes its name, intersects busy streets full of fashionable shops, where the countless clubs attract a young and dynamic public. This is why este’r partners chose to make the Hotel Oktogon the landing point for a cosmopolitan clientele, capable of appreciating the historical identity of a city, but also eager to experience its bustling nightlife.
The multidisciplinary and multicultural vision of interior designer Eszter Radnóczy, and the team of his este’r partners studio, is reflected in the fascinating new concept of the Hotel Oktogon, which thus enters the Hungarian hospitality scene as a new living room for digital nomads.
