The new edition of HostMilano will be held from 13 to 17 October 2023: the event will focus not only on furnishing trends in the hospitality world, but also on key themes in the office sector.
Design, sustainability, materials research and technological innovation will be the focal points of the furniture-technology area of Host 2023.
Host 2023 aims to recount the new trends that are affecting the hospitality sector: from the reorganisation of spaces to greater attention to eco-sustainability and energy saving, to the intelligent use of technology to improve the customer experience and the importance of putting the person back at the centre by investing in moments of relationship and wellbeing.
HostMilano will outline and show what elements to focus on to propose a winning formula: modularity, customisation, multi-functionality and above all versatility to fully meet the needs for reconfiguration and evolution of space layouts. People today, in addition to wanting to enjoy fine cuisine, quality food, and good service, are looking for a “cozy”, familiar and greener atmosphere, where digital and technology are fluidly integrated, and where the creativity of architects and designers is perceived.
Indeed, the end consumer is increasingly aware of design, aesthetics and demands high quality standards, preferring furniture made from sustainable materials.
Terms such as “experiential” or “multi-sensory” reflect real expectations of the end customer with which the designer must measure himself, to offer an increasingly “holistic” vision of the project, that is, totalising, comprehensive, which must bring together furniture, accessories, tableware and technology in a coherent and targeted concept. The bleisure phenomenon, says HostMilano, confirms how hotels are adapting their services in order to make the transition from a working condition to a moment dedicated to relaxation or entertainment extremely immediate and practical, i.e. providing flexible spaces that host diversified experiences: in other words, combining a business trip with an extended holiday.
In all this, technology is increasingly present and influences the digital transformation of hospitality through a number of directions. HostMilano has identified five of them: automation; personalised experience thanks to Apps capable of storing one’s preferences; marketing and sales, i.e. the way in which venues promote and sell their services; sustainability; and security of customer data.
The exhibition will be flanked by previews of tomorrow’s projects and events such as Design Talks, refresher seminars dedicated to architects and experts in the hospitality sector, and Smart Label, the award in collaboration with Poli.Design and ADI – Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (Industrial Design Association) that is given to those products, services, and projects that stand out for their distinctive features in terms of functionality, technology, environmental sustainability, ethics or social implications. The award ceremony will be held during the event and the winning products and solutions will be displayed in the dedicated SMART Products area and included in an ad hoc publication, the Smart Label Index.
