The University of Trieste has awarded a Degree Prize worth €1,500.00 in memory of Architect Marco Zuttioni.
The initiative was promoted with the support of theMarco Zuttioni ODV Association, which is committed to funding a three-year programme starting in 2023, providing for the awarding of an annual degree prize, aimed at valorising the talent demonstrated in the elaboration of brilliant theses for the Master’s Degree in Architecture.
The prize was awarded to Nicolas Pigat, a graduate of the Department of Engineering and Architecture, who distinguished himself with his thesis entitled “THE FILO DI SETA – A project for living with Alzheimer’s”.
The Award is a heartfelt tribute to Architect Marco Zuttioni, who died prematurely on 5 March 2022, whose professional and creative legacy lives on through this initiative. The main objective is to support and recognise excellence in the field of architecture, in line with the vision and commitment of Zuttioni, who in 2010 founded the Modourbano studio which, still today under the direction of his long-time friend Luca Romagnoli, works in the development of innovative and sustainable architecture and design solutions.
The theses accepted for the 2023 bid involved students enrolled in the three-year period from 2019 to 2022. Their evaluation was based on the originality of the work carried out and the focus on themes concerning architectural interventions for urban regeneration, with a particular focus on the sustainability of the production process and the use of materials in the project.
