Cerdisa Ricchetti Group unveiled Cross for the first time in April during Coverings 2022, an innovative multifunctional anti-slip finish for indoor and outdoor floors. Cross combines technical features such as R11 C tested anti-slip performance with aesthetic qualities such as pleasantness to the touch and minimal tendency to retain dirt. With this technology, Cerdisa’s collections become the ideal solution for any indoor and outdoor installation: kitchen and shower, living room and swimming pool, restaurant and rooftop terrace or indooroutdoor public spaces.
This finish is the result of the work of the GCR R&D Lab: many months of research have led to the achievement of performances that until now were irreconcilable in a single surface: softness and ease of cleaning – indispensable characteristics for indoor floors – and at the same time R11 C slip-resistance in both dry and wet conditions – a fundamental requirement for outdoor flooring.
Thanks to Cross technology, applied before firing, the porcelain stoneware surface is characterised by nano-grit particles that are very close together. In this way, the surface has no roughness that could retain dirt, making sanitising and cleaning easy. Furthermore, the ‘nanometric’ dimensions of the application, almost imperceptible to the touch, make the surface non-slip, decidedly soft and pleasant to touch. Cross is therefore proposed as a crossover surface, a crossover finish that represents a new starting point in the ceramic sector. The finish is currently available for the Archisalt series, EC1/22 by Cerdisa and Neolitica by Ricchetti.
