Casarialto’s first textile collection

Casarialto is the table arts and furnishing accessories brand founded in Veneto in 2008 that embodies the profound passion of its founder, Catherine Urban, for glass working and a fusion of international design knowledge and a skilful use of craftsmanship. After an international career for well-known fashion houses, Catherine Urban, a French art director, moved to Venice and began to develop her interest in the universe of interior design and, in particular, design related to tableware. Here she was fascinated by glass and its traditional workmanship, which she admired and studied and then transposed this knowledge into her collections.
In 2024, with the aim of creating a mise en place of its own, the art de la table in glass was joined by the first textile collection: tablecloths, placemats and napkins, which in their handcrafted and made in Italy production express the essence of the brand. This development tells of the brand’s flair and spirit, its love of raw materials and attention to detail, and expresses its values of craftsmanship and uniqueness.
As in Casarialto’s early productions, the source of inspiration is nature: embroideries of cacti, tropical flowers and multicoloured birds perch on the American placemats; the tablecloths, on the other hand, express the brand’s more minimalist side, with geometries declined in unexpected colour combinations.
In drawing the designs, Catherine Urban was inspired by Bruno Munari and in particular his studies dedicated to the expressive aspects of the square and its multiple decompositions. The figures that make up these tablecloths join precisely to form squares and rectangles and, thanks to the study of proportions and dimensions, can adapt to any shape of table.
The back of each product is as impeccable as the front thanks to the English stitching, which demonstrates great craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Modern and minimalist, but always with a playful and amusing touch, the tablecloths are proposed in four variants, each one composed of an arrangement of three shades – tone on tone, or bold with a bizarre touch – that recall natural landscapes such as the winter sky, the earth, the sea and adapt to environments of different styles.
In the world of Casarialto there are no predefined combinations; on the contrary, the choice of colours and patterns allows absolute freedom in creating different mix & matches every day, hymns to colour of timeless elegance.
