In the heart of a Piedmontese industrial area, Pavillon emerges as a suspended architecture of introspection, where the rationality of the production context meets the delicacy of a space dedicated to rest, contemplation, and silence. Designed by Damilanostudio architects, the project stems from the client’s need for a representative and welcoming space near the company, yet with a domestic and introspective soul.
The building spans 320 sqm within a 2000 sqm plot, surrounded by a striking 580 sqm artificial water feature that both isolates and enhances the structure, accessible only via a drawbridge. The element of water, central to the architectural composition, creates ever-changing reflections, amplifies the perception of time, and filters the relationship with the landscape.
Constructed on a reinforced concrete slab and with a metal structure, Pavillon utilizes insulated wooden infill walls and microcement as the dominant material for the floors, continuous between interior and exterior. The entrance path – a ramp clad in stone-effect microcement – leads to a fluid spatial sequence: from the living area to the spacious lounge, and finally to the bedroom, all environments designed for constant dialogue with the outside, thanks to the large, full-height windows that frame the landscape.
The interior design is entrusted to a skillful balance between iconic design and emotional personalization: the sofa dominates the living room; the kitchen and dining area are furnished with a gold leaf table, in continuity with the view of the water, just as the bathrooms are characterized by refined details.
Outside, the 740 sqm garden created with Vivai Roagna and Luchetti combines Japanese inspiration and Piedmontese tradition, featuring 23 tall trees, 174 bushes, 1630 ground cover plants, and bonsai from Japan on a 380 sqm lawn. A landscape conceived as a continuation of the architecture, amplifying its meditative and sensory dimension. A place where nature, design, and material build a private and symbolic microcosm.
