The first stage of Facile Sognare, the project with the mission of renovating spaces dedicated to the protection of children in difficulty, developed in collaboration with Every Child Is My Child Onlus, comes to an end.
In Milan, Facile Sognare has decided to direct its help towards the social enterprise ControVento, which has been active in the Lombard capital for over a century in safeguarding the rights of minors and supporting parenthood.
Facile Ristrutturare in fact, thanks to the involvement of its architects and teams, has made possible the rebirth of a 150 sq.m. building belonging to the association and in front of its historical headquarters in Via Nino Bixio: the premises, thanks to the company’s commitment of 100,000 euro, have been radically redesigned and transformed into a child-friendly “meeting space”, a comfortable place, domestic and everyday, designed to facilitate the rapprochement of minors with their family nucleus, which is very often conflicting and difficult.
On 21 September 2022, Giovanni Amato and Loris Cherubini, founders of Facile Ristrutturare, together with Anna Foglietta, President of Every Child Is My Child, handed over the totally renovated space to the children of ControVento accompanied by General Manager Sonia Oppici.
To celebrate the handing over of the keys, a presentation event was also held at the brand’s Milan showroom to share the results of the path undertaken with those close to the project.
The project saw the involvement of the artist and designer Elena Salmistraro, who contributed to making this space unique by creating Felicitas, a large work imagined together with the children and young people of ControVento. In April, in fact, the Facile Ristrutturare showroom hosted a workshop in which the designer, together with Paola Marella, godmother of the project, and architect Alberto Vanin, listened to their dreams and fantasies to transform them into a large sit-specific work of art.
The renovation project was conceived, designed and led by architect Alberto Vanin, who, thanks to a four-handed work with ControVento, first of all rethought the distribution of spaces to meet the needs expressed by the association.
The result is a ‘Meeting Space’ consisting of an entrance area for reception, two large living areas where meetings between children and their families can take place, protected hearings for crime victims, but also where leisure occasions such as parties and birthdays can take place, a kitchen for simple but fundamentally important moments such as lunch or a snack, and an office area for the association’s team and services.
