3D Wall Plaster is the collection of three-dimensional ceramic surfaces by Atlas Concorde inspired by the artisanal techniques of plaster processing. A three-dimensional ceramic surface that by interpreting a variety of decorative looks manages to bring the world of architecture closer to the world of art, where the use of plaster has ancient origins. In fact, the first works date back to Greek times, where it was used to sculpt statues, inlays and stuccoes. This is how plaster became a fundamental element of art and architecture.
3D Wall Plaster explores the artistic tradition of the master sculptors and offers a contemporary reinterpretation with an artisanal flavour. The refined elegance that shines through at first glance reveals a rich weave of micro-details that convey a vibrant perception of the surface when struck by light.
Chisel, brush, comb or trowel. Each relief evokes the mark left by the artist’s tools, creating decorative patterns. 3D Wall Plaster transfers the artist’s talent onto the ceramic surface with essential reliefs in a pure white tone, exploring the plastic strength of a pillar of architectural history that now enlivens spaces with contemporary design.
The purity of the white tiles interacts with the light, making the surfaces vibrant and rich in micro-details.
Atlas Concorde proposes with the collection five decorative motifs created from the tools used by plaster artists for art and architecture.
ORIGAMI is a micro-mosaic inspired by the ancient technique of folding paper made on fresh plaster and then worked with a trowel. The three-dimensional effect is subtle when viewed from afar, while up close it is rich in detail and facets.
BLOOM, on the other hand, presents a soft and delicate relief that reveals the traces of the brush bristles and the texture of the underlying canvas.
JASMINE is characterised by a smooth surface of the chalk block engraved with an intertwining of jasmine leaves, producing a modern floral motif. Using an engraving technique to remove the material from the surface, the leaves are hollowed out entirely or their outer edges are hollowed out to reveal them. This interplay of depressions and reliefs makes the surface extremely three-dimensional.
COMBED is the surface characterised by a soft, evanescent, almost wavy relief, made on fresh plaster, enriched by a micro surface striation made with a comb as the block dries.
BARCODE, on the other hand, consists of a geometric design with horizontal stripes of varying width made with a chisel on a block of plaster.
