In the spectacular setting of the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, the winners of the XII Edition of the Dedalo Minosse International Prize for Architecture were announced, coinciding with the twenty-fifth year since its institution.
The evening began with the Award Ceremony for the winners at the Teatro Olimpico, conducted by Giorgio Tartaro, followed by the inauguration of the multimedia exhibition in the nearby Basilica Palladiana, in the presence of the authorities, the winners and a large audience. The exhibition, which displays graphic panels, models, videos and installations, will tell the story of more than 60 different ways of understanding architecture, those of the commissioners and architects awarded, recommended and published by the Jury, until 2 October.
At the same time, also until 2 October, the Basilica will host the Client Forum with seminars, conferences and workshops for professionals, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts.
Like every edition, the collateral art exhibition curated by Fortunato D’Amico, this year entitled “Art and Architecture between Nature and Artifice”, will explore the themes of the relationship between man and the environment. Among the artists on display are Raymundo Sesma, Duilio Forte and Daniela Pellegrini, Paolo Tofani, and Max Marra.
As far as the Award ceremony is concerned, the international jury decided to award four Institutional Prizes, eight Special Prizes awarded by Institutions and Partners, and thirteen Recommendations by the Jury.
The four Institutional Prizes are:
– the Dedalo Minosse International Prize, to a client who has commissioned a freelance architect from any country;
– the Dedalo Minosse International Prize – Under 40, under the patronage of OCCAM, to a client who has commissioned a young freelance architect from any country;
– the ALA – Assoarchitetti Fondazione Inarcassa Award, to a client from any country that has appointed a freelance Italian architect;
– the ALA-Assoarchitetti – Under 40 Prize, to a client from any country that has appointed a young free-lance Italian architect;
