The ARCHMARATHON Selections @ MADE EXPO 2019, the international event organized by Publicomm in collaboration with the construction and design trade show which took place from 13thto 16thMarch has just ended.
Gold sponsors for the event were Dirello, Italcementi and TTM Rossi with Egoluceas Silver sponsors.
The 4 days of the event saw the participation of 28 international studios divided into 14 categories which each presented their projects to a large audience and the prestigious jury of Luca Molinari, Matteo Fantoni and Marzia Faranda.
On Saturday 16thMarch following the keynote speeches by the architects Fantoni, Faranda and Molinari, the award ceremony for the 14 winning projects took place.
The studios that will automatically have access to the world edition of ARCHMARATHON which will take place in Milan in 2020, are:
ART & CULTURE
The Bonjour India Experience – Spacematters
Motivation:
The pavillion shows a strong capacity of being nomadic, handcrafted designed and pop, defining a contemporary and alive way to communicate culture.
EDUCATIONAL BUILDINGS
A walking box – Unarchitecte
Motivation:
The project shows a strong sensitivity regarding the child’s point of view and the capability of designing a space of freedom and open creativity.
BARS & RESTAURANTS
John Antony – Linehouse
Motivation:
When East meet West its always a great challenge. In this very sophisticated restaurant the design of the living space, the inner sections of the dining rooms and the decorations generate a unique and exciting environment able to enrich all the senses.
LANDSCAPE & INFRASTRUCTURE
Şİşhane Town Square – Tabanlioglu Architects
Motivation:
The design of the public space and its ability to mediate between two different part of the city, along a very difficult section, is solved with a simple and sensitive urban choice.
PRIVATE HOUSING
Casa IV – Mesura
Motivation:
The addiction of this private house shows a clear vision of the domestic space and the capacity to manage the functional program through simple signs and a clever ecological strategy.
WORKSPACES
Goede Doelen – D/Dock
Motivation:
This space for coworking has been managed to create a cozy and domestic work environment keeping the quality of the existant space throuhg a clever strategy of recycling and regeneration.

Motivation:
The project shows a sensitive attitude, mixing carefully the existing space and, at the same time, a pop and visionary approach to contemporary life.

This new complex is a clever result of the open dialogue with the local community, the understanding of the site and a strong design vision which offer to the surroundings a real public space for its community.

The ski complex represents the necessity of thinking to overall strategy mixing contemporary landscape, social awareness and design sensitivity to produce new spaces for changing mix of the mountain community.

Motivation:
The project of the interior design is the result of a clear understanding of the existing building, a sensitive use of the materials and the capacity to create spaces for contemporary living.

Motivation:
The complex functional program in this case has been cleverly managed through a clear design process, which generated a new fragment of contemporay landscape, able to dialogue with the existing surroundings.

Drivelines Studios shows clearly the power of contemporary design in offering to an urban community an impressive landmark and at the same time a warm space to be lived the daily life.
