Selina Bertola‘s Nomade Architettura and Interior Design studio has carried out an elegant complete renovation of a house in Milan, whose main objective was to recover and enhance period details, reinterpreting them in a modern key.
The flat opens onto a refined entrance hall, embellished with boiseries and carved cornices, which serves as the fulcrum of the home, thanks to two custom-designed iron and glass portals leading to the kitchen and living area respectively.
The kitchen features a sophisticated colour scheme and an area dedicated to quick lunches. This detail introduces an unexpected chromatic note, giving character to the room.
The living area is organised around a large dining table, next to which is the sofa area, framed by a symmetrical double bookcase.
The wall panelling of the entrance hides a small powder room, covered with green Fornasetti wallpaper, and the door leading to the sleeping area. The corridor to the sleeping area houses two guest rooms, ending with the master suite.
The master suite features a spacious bedroom and a unique bathroom. Here, the use of travertine is combined with a bespoke design: a washbasin top that transforms into a bathtub and a large shower, creating a visually striking space.
A small staircase leads to the upper floor, where a study and laundry room are located.
The overall project highlighted elegant details and finishes, bringing back the original splendour of the house. A renovation that harmoniously combines tradition and modernity, giving the rooms a new lease of life.
