On Wednesday 12 June from 10 a.m. onwards, the Finissage convention of The New Together exhibition, inaugurated during the Venice Architecture Biennial at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia (May-July 2023) and remounted in a reduced form at the Steel Group showroom, will be held at Steel Group‘s Cremona headquarters.
The conference, strongly desired and organised by the Territorial Associations of Architects PPC of Brescia, Cremona, Lodi, Mantua, Parma, Pavia and Piacenza, will see the intervention of Architect Mario Cucinella, Founder & Design Director of MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects, with his own Lectio Magistralis, followed by a dialogue with Luca Molinari, architecture critic and Editorial Director of Platform on the theme “The New Together. Project and community’.
The territorial Orders, in fact, considered the Conference a formative and highly significant opportunity to observe and better understand how the figure of the architect is decisive in the design, as well as transformation, of spaces, through ideas that are always an expression of a deep-rooted culture. Participation in the morning’s programme entitles 3cfp PPC Architects with an additional 2cfp PPC Architects for participation in the company visit.
The New Together is an exhibition curated by Luca Molinari (former Platform Editorial Director) and Simona Finessi, Platform Publisher, and with the collaboration of a young curatorial team, which aims to investigate, through the selected architectural projects, how the design of the spaces we inhabit is evolving to meet the needs of the new times we are living in.
After its debut at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia in Venice, the exhibition was rearranged by presenting 70 projects by Italian firms from the 140 originally selected. Hosting this second stage of The New Together was the new Hangar-showroom Metalli d’Autore by Steel Group, a company that was already a partner in the initiative and which created the exhibition structures for the exhibition. Until 2019, this exhibition space was part of the headquarters of the historic Piacenza Rimorchi, which had been Cremona’s most important industry during the economic boom and which, following its closure, was now in a state of complete abandonment and decay.
Steel Group chose to take charge of the securing and complete renovation of the property, initiating, in cooperation with the municipality, a major reclamation of the site, which was followed by the redesigning and reconversion of the spaces. Part of the new premises has therefore been earmarked for the creation of a space dedicated to hosting exhibitions and artistic events, once again becoming an important part of the urban heritage, usable also by the city, which now has the possibility of visiting art and architecture exhibitions in the company’s exhibition hangar.

Steel Group
Created to challenge the limits of metal, Steel Group exploits the properties of steel, corten, brass and other metals to overcome the constraints imposed by the material and create works of great aesthetic impact. Technological research has grown over the years in step with exploration in the field of design, making each project an opportunity to explore new horizons. In the process of consulting and realisation of windows, housing modules, staircases and building claddings, the customer shapes his own world, from the possibility of designing the entire structure to the choice of finishes.
