The elegance of detail

The studio Vudafieri-Saverino Partners has designed six new Delvaux boutiques in Asia, strengthening its collaboration with the world’s oldest luxury leather goods house and carrying forward an architectural language that combines continuity with diversity.

After more than one hundred projects completed for the brand since 2012, the Milan-based studio once again reinterprets the maison’s values with a keen sensitivity to the genius loci of each city. The recent openings—in Bangkok, Shanghai, Macao, Gwangju, and two stores in Seoul—translate Delvaux’s DNA into different architectural experiences, where noble materials, bespoke craftsmanship, and intimate atmospheres transform the stores into narrative spaces. Each boutique becomes a physical extension of the brand’s heritage, balancing artisanal mastery, elegance, and contemporary spirit.

The façades, defined by geometric motifs such as checkerboards and lozenges, are characterized by glossy gold accents and material contrasts, while the window displays host installations that establish a dialogue with design and art. In Gwangju, for example, the display recalls the Modular Revolving Bookcase by Claudio Salocchi from the 1960s, underscoring the intent to merge retail with visual culture. Inside, the boutiques unfold through foyers, ateliers with bar areas, and VIC rooms, where the product is presented as a work of art. In Shanghai, marble panels create elegant backdrops, while in Bangkok the rhythm of brushed brass and backlit mesh panels in the storefront introduces refined interiors enriched by installations from artist Filippo Falaguasta. The VIC room in Gwangju, clad in terracotta-red tones, becomes an enveloping, sensory environment; in Bangkok, the space is distinguished by a sculptural undulating wall covered in Delvaux Alter Ego wallpaper.
