Tétris designs the new Zurich headquarters in Milan

In the heart of Milan, between La Scala and the Duomo, a new chapter in interior architecture redefines the concept of the contemporary workplace. Tétris Italia, part of the JLL Group and specialized in the design & build of professional environments, has designed the new Zurich Italia and Zurich Bank headquarters in Via Santa Margherita 11—a 7,000-square-meter project that weaves together functionality, wellbeing, and technological innovation.

The interior layout follows a precise architectural strategy balancing hospitality, productivity, and representation. On the ground floor, the Client Hub welcomes visitors and employees with a reception area, digital corner, and a central lounge reflecting the company’s values. The operational floors host offices, meeting rooms, and areas for focused or collaborative work, while the fourth level is dedicated to management and executive spaces. The Zurich Lounge on the fifth floor offers an elegant panoramic venue for events and meetings, featuring a glazed terrace overlooking the Milan skyline. In the basement levels, the Conference Center completes the experience with training rooms and modular spaces for workshops and educational activities.

The concept—inspired by the aquatic world and natural forms—translates the movement of water and dunes into a fluid architectural language: curved walls, soft geometric flooring, and dynamic ceilings create welcoming and immersive environments. A biophilic approach is one of the project’s key principles: plants and greenery serve as active design elements, enhancing psychological comfort and restoring a sense of connection with nature even in the urban core. Natural light, amplified by glass walls and skylights, ensures visual continuity and a pervasive sense of wellbeing.

The color palette draws on tones of sky, water, and earth—blue, beige, sandy greys, and natural wood—punctuated by ochre and orange accents that infuse energy and creativity. Finishes ranging from tatami textures to metallic and ceramic surfaces reveal a refined material research, complemented by light fabrics, transparent curtains, and curved furnishings.
