The Mondial du Bâtiment and its three exhibitions, BATIMAT, IDÉOBAIN, INTERCLIMA, open their doors to visitors from 30 September to 3 October 2024 at the Paris-Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre. For the occasion, an international road show has been organised for the next four months, with specific stages starting on 24th April in Tunisia.
One of the main topics of the event is the role of summer comfort in the renovation of thermally inefficient buildings. Renovation, in fact, is often thought of in terms of thermal performance and improved winter comfort. But summer comfort is also an element to be taken into account.
A study by the Abbé Pierre Foundation estimates that ¬60 % of French people suffered from heat in their own homes in 2022.
These episodes of extreme heat have several impacts: health, comfort and certainly energy. Therefore, there are solutions to adapt renovation to the problem of summer comfort: choosing the right materials (façades, glazed walls, cladding, etc.), favouring the ventilation and aeration of buildings (bioclimatic design, natural ventilation, cooling systems, etc.), working on the insulation of dwellings, equipping with solar protection or even re-vegetating buildings.
Observers of the sector and its evolutions, the Mondial du Bâtiment exhibitions are also a mouthpiece for the challenges of renovation. It is therefore with this aim in mind that the organisers of the Mondial du Bâtiment, in partnership with the Alliance HQE for a number of dates, will be travelling to a number of European and African countries to hold conferences and take the time to meet with local experts.
These meetings have the dual objective of sharing global and local visions in order to identify the best solutions used in each country and to be inspired by them; and to enhance the solutions present within the BATIMAT, IDÉOBAIN and INTERCLIMA exhibitions.
Some of the speakers at these conferences will also be present in Paris and will speak at the round tables, lectures, masterclasses and workshops that will be organised during the international day on 1 October, the second day of the exhibition.
