Spazio Giustiniani: the beating heart of Design and Culture in Genoa

In the historic center of Genoa, nestled among the charming 16th-century buildings of Piazza Giustiniani, lies Spazio Giustiniani—a place that redefines the concept of a showroom by blending culture, conviviality, and innovation. Founded by Matteo and Gianluigi Rossi, two designers with decades of experience, this concept store is far more than a commercial exhibition space. It is a true creative and cultural hub, open to designers, architects, creatives, and all those with a passion for beauty.

Spanning over 800 square meters across four floors, Spazio Giustiniani features a constantly evolving display, made possible through collaborations with internationally renowned brands such as Pianca, Baxter, Talenti, Poliform, antoniolupi, TOOY, Amini, Pedrali, and Emu.

What truly sets this space apart, however, is its strong cultural identity, expressed through a vibrant calendar of events that engage both the public and professionals. At the center of this activity is “Lo Spazio del Giovedì” (The Thursday Space), a successful format that animates the weekly programming. These events range from experiential dinners with architects and clients to show cooking, book presentations, chamber music concerts, workshops, and technical or cultural talks on design and technological innovation.

Spazio Giustiniani is also the epicenter of the Genova Design Week, now in its sixth edition. The 2025 event saw record attendance with over 20,000 visitors, 166 exhibitors, and 122 events, including exhibitions, talks, and conferences. The initiative featured major participants such as Renzo Piano Building Workshop, Mario Cucinella, Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia, the University of Genoa, and the architecture magazine Platform.

The latest evolution of the project is the Bistrot Giustiniani, an elegant urban lounge open from late morning until midnight, offering a refined sensory journey through carefully curated flavors, creative dishes, and signature cocktails. Curated by restaurateur and architect Francesca Santoro, the bistrot also showcases the design expertise of Forma Design Studio, with fully custom interiors that reflect a distinct design vision.

Thanks to partnerships with brands like Ponte Giulio, Cotto Anticua, Bora, and Irinox, alongside elements such as a natural stone bar counter and wallpaper inspired by Renaissance frescoes, the Bistrot becomes a space where beauty and conviviality converge. It’s a multifunctional environment, perfect for hosting cultural events, concerts, open-air cinema, and community gatherings.

Among Spazio Giustiniani’s standout features is its focus on the smart home of the future. Inside the showroom is the VIP Lounge Genesis by Poliform, an interactive suite where visitors can experience the potential of a customizable and transformable intelligent home. Additionally, a materials library, equipped with a projector and audio system, provides a space for private meetings, training sessions, and professional discussions.

Recently, the space received recognition from the Renzo Piano Building Workshop, who chose it as a presentation site for the interior finishes of Genoa’s new waterfront, inaugurated in 2023.

In all respects, Spazio Giustiniani goes beyond the physical dimension—it represents a vision that merges design, architecture, gastronomy, and art, contributing actively to the revitalization of Genoa’s historic center and the growth of an urban district grounded in beauty, quality, and human connection.

It is, ultimately, a landmark for those who see design as a tool for urban regeneration and meaningful human experience.
