Skin is Manerba’s new exclusive finish for the world of office design, a project that represents a true aesthetic and functional turning point in the treatment of surfaces. Its distinguishing feature is the elegant matt effect obtained through an advanced polymerisation process, which guarantees an extremely sophisticated reflection of light, clearly superior to traditional matt lacquers. This quality translates into high performance, making Skin ideal for work desk tops, where aesthetics and durability must coexist.
Surfaces treated with Skin offer a series of unique performances: extreme hardness and scratch resistance, excellent tolerance to chemical agents which facilitates cleaning, a soft touch and anti-fingerprint finish, as well as a deep opacity with values below 2 Gloss. No less important is its homogenous application on all faces of the top, which eliminates the need for traditional plastic edging, resulting in a cleaner, more integrated appearance.
Skin also allows almost total chromatic freedom. It can in fact be declined in any shade of the NCS (Natural Colour System®) or RAL system, allowing perfect coordination with all the other finishes of the Manerba Colour Project. The latter is a rich palette of 72 colour variants that can be replicated on different materials such as wood, laminate, metal, aluminium and glass. The compatibility between surfaces makes it possible to achieve impeccable colour consistency while maintaining economic and aesthetic sustainability.
Skin’s versatility is also expressed in its ability to dialogue with other elements in the Manerba catalogue: vertical surfaces in coated wood, steel structures, metal drawer units, back-lacquered glass, painted aluminium profiles. Desks and tables can thus be designed in a monochrome version, offering infinite solutions of customisation and formal refinement for any type of working environment.
