Si Minore by Capoferri: a sense of harmony, proportion, rhtym.

In contemporary architecture, even windows and doors become part of the design language. It is from this vision that Si minore was born: the window system developed by Capoferri, conceived not merely as a product but as the result of a reflection on the role of detail and the relationship between technology, materials and design. With this project, the company presents a window stripped down to the essentials, designed to interact with the architecture in a discreet yet recognisable way.

In this sense, Si minore embodies the essence of Capoferri’s design philosophy and can be seen as a manifesto of the approach that has always guided the company—the result of a well-established design culture and experience gained over time, now interpreted by Sergio Capoferri. The name evokes musical language: a deep, intimate key that suggests balance and restraint. Similarly, the system is based on calibrated proportions, minimal sections and the continuity of surfaces, allowing light, material and space to define the identity of the whole.

The profile stems from a careful study of geometries and chamfers, designed to modulate the light and guide the gaze along the perimeter of the opening. The same attention to detail is evident in the hardware, designed to blend seamlessly into the overall design. Mechanisms and fittings are reduced to essential elements or disappear from view, whilst the cord hinges – a reinterpretation of a solution introduced in the 1950s – contribute to the system’s clean lines. Si minore guarantees high levels of insulation and weatherproofing whilst enhancing the quality of the materials and the relationship with the interior space. Originally designed in wood, a material central to the company’s manufacturing heritage, Si minore was later developed also into a wood-and-metal version, conceived for more exposed settings or contemporary architecture requiring greater durability and lower maintenance outdoors, whilst maintaining its formal identity.
