Planit: collaboration, creativity and material cohesion

Planit is a company that has always made collaboration, creativity and quality materials its primary goals. The company, based in the province of Bolzano, strives to create solutions that respond perfectly to an infinite number of combinations.

It is precisely for these characteristics that Planit was chosen by the ARCATOP studio, Architetti Associati Tomaselli Pirazzi, and Mobilificio Deflorian in the design of a private residence that finds its dimension between the modern and the traditional. Strict, clean lines alternate with wood, iron and Corian®, between cool technology and warm Alpine nature. Exposed and bright, the kitchen and bathroom areas are enhanced by continuous, durable surfaces in Glacier White Corian®. In the kitchen we find a large worktop complemented by the Spicy 966 sink with hollowed-out draining board. In the bathroom the Infinity 5 unit with Libra washbasin. The Free oval Cristalplant bathtub completes this decisive yet comfortable atmosphere.

Corian® is a material that falls into the solid surface category, composed of one third transparent acrylic resin (polymethyl methacrylate PMMA) and two thirds natural minerals. The main one is aluminium trihydrate (ATH), a white powder obtained from bauxite, the mineral from which aluminium is extracted. It is therefore a mineral powder material that uses acrylic resin as a binder. Our 20 years of experience in handling this material through the thermoforming technique allows us to create compact, continuous, durable and design-versatile surfaces.
Corian® keeps surfaces clean and hygienic, regardless of daily cleaning. It is non-porous, joints are imperceptible, fungi and bacteria do not take root. This is why DuPont™ Corian® is certified as a hygienic material under the international DIN EN ISO 846 standard and is ideal for the design of spaces such as schools, hospitals, motorway service areas, airports, hotels and camping sites.
