Peace Builder: Architecture for Peace

From November 24th 2025, to January 26th 2026, the exhibition Peace Builder: Architecture for Peace, curated by Simona Finessi, Director of PLATFORM architecture and design, with creative direction by Angelo Dadda, will be open to the public at Ceramica Sant’Agostino’s “milano Living Surfaces” space.

Ten hand-drawn designs by ten different designers, using different techniques and colors, united by the single concept that architecture can be much more than a backdrop: it can be a silent but powerful engine of social transformation.

With the exhibition Peace Builder: Architecture for Peace, Ceramica Sant’Agostino and PLATFORM architecture and design invited designers to consider how built space can contribute concretely to the construction of a culture of peace.
In a world marked by conflict, inequality, and divisions—both visible and invisible—architecture has the power to mend, soothe, and connect. We are not only talking about grand, iconic gestures, but also—and perhaps above all—small interventions capable of activating relationships, embracing differences, and generating a sense of belonging.

This exhibition brings together a series of hand-drawn sketches that interpret the theme of “peace building” through architecture. The drawings thus become not only a means of expression, but also a manifesto of ethical and civic intent.
The eleven authors, who belong to some of the most important names in Italian architecture, are:

– Angelo Micheli – AMDL Circle

– Alfonso Femia – Atelier(s) Alfonso Femia

– Gianandrea Barreca – Barreca & La Varra

– Sonia Calzoni – Calzoni Architetti

– Maurizio Lai – Lai Studio

– Claudio Calabrese – MAC Milano

– Gerardo Sannella – MYGG

– Leonardo Cavalli and Wilma Bonelli – One Works

– Chiara Caberlon – Studio Chiara Caberlon Architetti

– Claudio Saverino – Vudafieri-Saverino Partners

The works will remain on display to the public free of charge at the Showroom in Corso Garibaldi 95, Milan, until January 26th 2026, when the drawings will be auctioned off and the proceeds donated in full to the Città della Speranza Foundation. Città della Speranza, founded in 1994 thanks to the determination of Franco Masello, not only finances projects evaluated by a scientific committee, but has also created the Città della Speranza Pediatric Research Institute, an internationally renowned center of excellence for advanced diagnostics of pediatric tumors, which hosts over 220 researchers and dozens of research groups.
Ceramica Sant’Agostino, which has supported the Foundation for years, will donate the entire proceeds from the auction to Città della Speranza, so that “Peace Builder” does not remain just a title.
