Paolo Belloni Architect PB30X30

Inaugurated on 7 December 2024, the exhibition ‘Paolo Belloni Architetto PB30X30’ coincides with the thirtieth anniversary of Paolo Belloni, founder of Studio PBeB Architetti, with an itinerary that recounts the evolution and identity of one of the protagonists of contemporary architecture. Thirty emblematic projects, selected to represent three decades of research, creativity and commitment, are narrated through images in an innovative and accessible form: one minute for each project.

The experience is conceived for a total duration of 30 minutes, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a journey that embraces cult works, educational spaces, sports facilities and transformed landscapes.

The projects on display, which ideally mark 30 years of his professional career, convey the approach of an architect who distances himself from a dynamic of typological specialisation to tackle projects with highly differentiated scales, dimensions and functional programmes. Projects for public spaces and buildings alternate with those for landscape design and for private clients in both residential and industrial settings. Complex restoration projects alternate with those for buildings constructed from scratch. The project for an office tower in the heart of the city of Milan dialogues with that of a single-family house recovered through the redevelopment of an abandoned building in a small historic centre. Between projects for squares and design works, a series of works for sacred architecture stand out.

The exhibition portrays the work of a professional who tackles very different and often unconventional projects with special attention, sensitivity and expertise in the use of building materials.

The exhibition Paolo Belloni Architetto PB30x30 represents an interesting opportunity to understand the dynamics and complexity of the multidisciplinary profession of the architect.

Among the projects to the credit of this architect, with a background in international education and numerous awards, publications, and recognitions to his credit, I would like to recall some of the projects that have affected the Seriate area: the redevelopment of Piazza Bolognini, the Edilforum building at the Scuola Edile, the gymnasium for the Gianni Rodari Primary School, and the competition project for the redevelopment of the Ex Mazzoleni area, which won second place among more than one hundred design proposals that were submitted.
