EALA – My Lakeside Dream (formerly Hotel Panorama) is a 5-star luxury hotel with a marvellous view of the Lake Garda coast between Limone and Riva del Garda. The hotel, which offers its guests an exclusive luxury experience in close contact with the lakeside nature in which it is immersed, was recently renovated by the Gesia Associated Architecture and Engineering Studio of Brescia of Architect Marco Savorgnani and Engineer Giovanni Ghirardelli, who developed the project based on perfect integration between the surrounding nature, the building and the materials used.
For the realisation of the 64 suites, the spa, the restaurant and the private beach, the architects and interior designers of Studio Gesia used materials and furnishings of the highest level.
“With this project we wanted, first of all, to enhance the natural environment that embraced the old complex, creating a contemporary building capable of architecturally interpreting the surrounding landscape with indigenous forms, colours and building traditions,” says Architect Savorgnani. “And precisely to respond to the need for full integration with nature, the two facades, the one on the street side and the other on the lake side, were conceived differently.
The first façade, in fact, is made of vertical fir staves in the same colour as the chestnut woods that make up the structures of the world-famous Garda lemon houses, while the façade ‘fifth’, built to screen the interior rooms, closes the front leading to the entrance of EALA: a true sculpture made of white cement elements. On the other hand, the lake-side façade, which houses the large loggias of the suites, was conceived according to the orographic lines of the mountain, where the colours of the cement panels, made up of a mix of marble grit and other inert materials, pick up the colours of the cliff” – concludes Savorgnani.
Precisely because of this design choice, the Hotel EALA – My Lakeside Dream is perceived from the lake as a rocky ridge sloping down towards the water, on which camphor trees are placed and where nature makes indigenous plant formations grow on the high rocks in an almost unexpected way.
All four types of suites (Argantos, Albus, Nemos and Alisia) are characterised by their prestigious and exclusive furnishings. Particular care was given to the design and materials used to furnish the bathrooms, such as the faucets and shower systems from the MIS collection by Palazzani.eu.
The EALA Luxury Spa, which covers 1,000 square metres, includes two separate areas: the indoor swimming pool overlooking the lake and the “nest” that houses the panoramic sauna, the emotional and reaction showers, also by Palazzani.eu, the Turkish bath, the “limonaia” Mediterranean bath, the “Kneipp” path, the “respiro del Garda” whirlpools, the relaxation rooms and the herbal tea room.
The building’s sustainability and energy efficiency are guaranteed by innovative construction systems and plant technologies, such as underfloor heating and cooling, which maximise performance by qualifying the building as an NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building): the European standard to which buildings must comply in the case of deep renovations such as the one implemented for EALA – My Lakeside Dream.
