Studio B+Architects continues its collaboration with the Kiton brand by realising the concept for the new flagship store located in the beating heart of Seoul’s shopping district, on the famous Cheongdam-dong Luxury Fashion Street.
The first thing that strikes one is the exterior façade, an element of great visual impact. Imposing and more than 24 metres high, it is covered in metal mesh, consisting of anodised aluminium in two different bronze shades, with a woven pattern.
Special backlighting gives the façade a vibrant effect that transforms in accordance with natural light.
The shop boasts large and bright spaces covering 350 square metres on two levels.
The atmosphere that welcomes the visitor inside is inspired by a linear design, combining clean shapes and neutral colours with soft finishes. The Seoul boutique recalls the creative world of Kiton through a wide range of materials, which interact with the furnishing elements.
The material palette consists of textured fabrics, small touches of Canaletto walnut wood with a special matt finish, metals with special nickel tones, and Tai Ping carpets in anthracite wool customised for the store. Many of the fabrics used are those that the brand usually places inside jackets, too precious not to be enhanced in a customised piece of furniture.
The furnishings were entirely designed by B+Architects, which, as always, also follows the engineering in close cooperation with experienced craftsmen.
On both floors there are lounge areas furnished with seating created exclusively for Kiton.
On the ground floor, a pleasant green corner opens up to the outside and expands the boutique with a furnished and customised dehors; on the upper floor, the VIP room faces outwards with a large panoramic window in an ideal connection with the city.
