Nestlé Head Office by DAAA Haus

The renovation of Nestlé’s Maltese headquarters, designed by the studio DAAA Haus, interprets the contemporary workplace through an intervention that integrates corporate identity, spatial flexibility, and references to local culture. Located in Malta, the project transforms the corporate offices into a fresh and contemporary environment capable of reflecting the brand’s language while maintaining a strong connection to the local context.

The design strategy is based on assigning different color palettes to the various departments, creating recognizable atmospheres while maintaining an overall coherent identity. Shades of green, blue, orange, and yellow—colors associated with Nestlé’s visual world—define the different areas of the office and interact with natural materials such as wood and raw concrete. Together, these elements form a palette inspired by the colors and textures of the Maltese landscape.

Materiality thus becomes a fundamental tool in shaping the interiors. Wood paneling, oak-effect vinyl flooring, exposed ceilings treated with color tones, and coordinated textile finishes contribute to creating a layered spatial language that balances warmth and contemporaneity. The result is a welcoming and dynamic working environment designed to support everyday activities with a lively yet balanced atmosphere.

The layout introduces a diverse range of environments dedicated to different ways of working. Enclosed booths, open-space areas, meeting rooms, and private offices offer employees the opportunity to choose the setting best suited to their operational needs. Each zone is characterized by a distinct atmosphere, encouraging concentration, collaboration, and creativity through carefully calibrated spatial diversity.

A hand-painted mural establishes a visual connection between Nestlé and the island, while the reception desk and a feature wall reinterpret the aesthetics of traditional Maltese tiles and the textures of local limestone. These elements help anchor the space within its geographical context, building a narrative that intertwines corporate culture with the memory of the place.

The project also places great importance on the presence of vegetation, used as both a spatial and atmospheric device. In the office courtyards, concrete seating structures with integrated planters have been introduced, while in the cafeteria, booths with built-in planters create semi-enclosed spaces designed for breaks, informal meetings, and moments of collaboration.
