MIAMI BREEZE: a collective portrait of Miami through the designers

Rimadesio and Platform magazine launch a new project, Breeze, dedicated to exploring the intimate dialogue between interior designers and the cities that shape, inspire, or challenge them.

The initiative unfolds in two international capitals #MiamiBreeze on December 3, 2025 and #ParisBreeze on January 21, 2026. The Miami chapter emerges as a vivid, emotionally resonant tribute to a city defined by resilience and creative reinvention.

At its core, Breeze invites designers to present a project that reflects their personal bond with their city, either rooted in origin or adopted. Six leading studios, diverse in backgrounds and creative voices, EOLO A&I Design, B. Pila Design Studio, CURATED., Taylor & Taylor, DKOR Interiors, and Sanchez+Coleman Studio, weave together, through the language of interior design, a collective portrait of a multifaceted, energetic and constantly evolving Miami.

EOLO A&I Design – The Splendid Retreat

Sandra Diaz-Velasco of EOLO A&I Design, presents not just a residence but a love letter to the city, its craftsmanship, and its capacity for emotional transformation. The Splendid Retreat, overlooking Biscayne Bay, was designed for a couple of art collectors relocated from California amid personal challenges. The home was conceived as a sanctuary, embodying the essence of the place as an area for healing, rebirth, and quiet sophistication.

B. Pila Design Studio – Design Enlightenment: A Home Aligned with the Soul

Beatrice Pila, founder of B. Pila Design Studio together with her husband, architect Carlos Gonzalez-Ochoa, displays a residence as empty nester. According to her philosophy Design Enlightenment, a determination to realign the surrounding with a true lifestyle, she realises a home that rises up to meet the soul, without pretentious demands from outside influences. Inspired by midcentury warmth and the architecture of Napa Valley, the house replaces traditional rooms with flexible, connected spaces, a great lounge room with an expandable dining system, dual home-offices, workshop, and a tranquil meditation garden. The intervention intends to reflect Miamis tropical informality, tranquillity and conviviality. Every detail is intentional.

CURATED. – Coconut Grove Coastal-Boho Retreat

CURATED. Melanie Haselmayr’s Miami is a city of contrasts: the lushness of the tropics interweaves with the intimacy of small neighbourhoods. Coconut Grove-Boho Retreat, in particular, become both muse and mirror. Designed in just under two months for a young family seeking calm within the citys vibrancy, this residence captures Miamis softer side: muted coastal blues, organic textures, layered materials, and effortless bohemian ease. Clean lines meet tactile warmth, while indooroutdoor living shapes a serene atmosphere. Haselmayr, an adopted Miamian, sees the city with both gratitude and clarity, a Miami not of nightlife or neon, but of filtered afternoon sun, banyan trees, quiet streets, and the deeply personal sense of arrival that defines life.

Taylor & Taylor – Perennial House at Morningside

Perennial House introduces the studio’s new venture, Taylor & Taylor Homes, fusing design, construction, and development into a unified vision. The residence represents Miamis next chapter in tropical coastal living: elevated above flood level, hurricane-safe, and rooted in sustainable principles. Passive daylighting, solar readiness, and traditional architectural cues meet contemporary comfort. The home captures the effortless elegant and laid back culture of South Florida living.

DKOR Interiors – Sophisticated Bay Harbor Island Residence

For a Brazilian family dividing their lives between Brazil, Paris, and Miami, DKOR Interiors crafted a sophisticated Bay Harbor Island Residence that reflects their cosmopolitan habits and passion for gathering, exactly the potential that a context as Miami can represent. A 7,000-square-foot residence blends a serene tropical palette of taupe, beige, and white with playful, family-centered features. The design captures tropical sophistication, layered textures, natural materials, and a sense of celebration. An atmosphere perfectly aligned with clients who love hosting soirées.

Sanchez+Coleman Studio – Palm Tower Residence: Creative Incubator

Vibrant, fearless, and exuberantly art-driven, Sanchez+Coleman Studio’s Palm Tower: Creative Incubator captures Miamis multicultural richness and bold creative energy. A curated oasis filled with contemporary art, midcentury pieces, and bold color stories, the residence plays with proportion, pattern, and form. A design that draws the eye upward with dramatic ceiling elements linking the vertical and horizontal planes. A long entrance gallery becomes a stage for large-scale artworks, setting the tone for a home that celebrates a personal expression of Miamis artistic pulse.

Through the six projects of Miami Breeze a collective portrait emerges: Miami as a city of contrasts and connections, healing and reinvention, tropical softness and architectural rigor. The designers showcase Miami not as a postcard stereotype, but as a living environment, one that inspires renewal, fosters creativity, and offers a unique emotional landscape for those who call it home.
