La Reserva is one of the most exclusive clubs in the Andalusia region, just a few steps from the sea on the Costa del Sol. A resort consisting of more than 600 hectares of land including elegant private residences, golf courses and a luxurious country club to immerse oneself in the scents and colours of Mediterranean nature designed by renowned architect and landscape architect Jean Mus. The experience for guests is made even more incredible thanks to the creation of a 2,500 sq.m. ‘pool-lagoon‘ with a sandy beach and relaxation areas with gazebos and loungers, spa treatment stations and a restaurant area overlooking the lagoon in which to try Andalusian specialities cooked by starred chefs.
Thanks to Myrtha technology and ad-hoc solutions developed by the Italian company, it has been possible to create an elegant artificial lagoon called ‘The Beach‘ with a backdrop completely covered in sand. The use of Myrtha’s self-supporting structure allowed for cost savings in construction work thanks to the construction of a simple concrete curb around the entire perimeter of the lagoon on which the stainless steel panels were installed. For the bottom of the lagoon, it was in fact sufficient to compact the soil and cover it with a membrane (which in turn was covered with sand), avoiding the cost of constructing a slab of over 2,000 sq.m.
Another important element of the project was the sand that makes up the lagoon, sourced from a local quarry and designed to have the perfect colour and grain size to withstand gusts of wind while providing the aesthetics and comfort of a white Mediterranean beach. Moreover, the natural colour of the water that impresses all resort guests and makes this pool unique is also due to the pool walls finished in an elegant sand colour.
On the other hand, perfect water circulation was ensured by the fluid dynamics (CFD) studies of the Myrtha team, which led to the installation of special wall vents. A solution, the latter, which is perfect in the case of large free-form pools and which also made it possible to avoid the limitations of bottom inlets, which would have made water recirculation difficult due to the sand at the bottom of the pool.
The lagoon of “The Beach” with beach entrance and complete with an elegant little island, is a real attraction of the Club, while at the same time blending in perfectly with its surroundings. Is an oasis of relaxation with every comfort where the natural effect of a paradise beach, crystal-clear water and a comfortable environment for adults and children are combined. Myrtha Pools’ expertise has thus further enhanced a resort that has tastefully combined nature and design, modernity and tradition, wellness and luxury.
